Platforms Made Some Important Updates This Week 👀

This week on social 👇

A few awesome updates happened in the social world this week. Check ’em out:

Say goodbye: Now, you can update your social icons to include X’s new branding. It’s time to let the bird go…she’s never coming back…

  • We haven’t seen this yet for ourselves, but TikTok is taking what we think is an important step in an AI world and requiring labels for any artificial creations on the app.
  • One thing that X got right (well, kinda, but that’s for another time) is its Creator Ad Share Revenue Program. They just reduced the exposure requirement, so more creators should be getting paid soon! That’s good. But some creators meet the requirements and aren’t getting paid—not good.
  • This is a very cool YouTube update. We think they’ve quietly been making a lot of small improvements to the platform. Regardless of your industry, you should be on YouTube, especially Shorts.
  • Let us know when Threads has interactions like this, and we’ll start logging in more often.
  • Aaaaand let us know if Threads has fewer posts like this, and we’ll log in right away and leave X forever.
  • The best summary of the Elon v. Zuck supposed MMA matchup.
  • Finally, a long-awaited Meta Reels API update that’s going to be huge for social media managers who live and die by their management tools (shoutout Sprout, love you).
  • We read on Girl Power Marketing that TikTok now allows accounts to post entire podcast episodes via RSS feed, but we haven’t found that yet.

We’re hiring!

We’re looking to add a Production Coordinator to our team! This role is perfect for anyone who’s looking to grow and develop in video production. Responsibilities include studio maintenance, production tasks, collaboration with Directors and DPs, prepping gear, organizing our grip truck, serving as 1AC or Grip, and working with our team on recurring content projects. Learn more below!

Check out the new digs

In case you missed it (no hard feelings), we moved into our new studio space earlier this year. It’s been a game-changer for us and Greenville’s film and content community. Inside sits a 33×18 foot LED Wall in a 3,000-square-foot soundstage, an amazing new space for agencies and filmmakers to bring almost any creative vision to life through virtual production. It’s also got three 500-square-foot content recording spaces, which are great for talking heads, social content, podcasts, online courses, photoshoots, and more.

Get better at social

We know how hard it can be to run an effective social media presence with a smaller team. Heck, we’ve had to figure this out ourselves. Once we started growing, we realized that we really wished we had someone to help us out along the way. Better yet, it would’ve been great to grow alongside someone going through the same struggles. We created a group to do just that through monthly educational sessions. Check it out below.
