Threads’ Usage Rate is Not Great

Your Weekly Social Updates Are Here

After a wild past 4 weeks, social media evolution has returned to its normal state of “insane but not entirely overwhelming.” Here’s what’s new:

  • Threads usage rate has dropped significantly since its initial surge. That’s not to say nobody is using it, it’s just not catching on yet. And that’s fine! Like we said, it’s very much an open beta currently, and with X’s current business model of “whatever we want,” things may still change in the near future. If you work in social, remember to log into Threads once a week just to see what’s happening.
    • To prove that this app is very much still in its infancy, their latest update will include a chronological feed, post-editing, and an easier way to switch between accounts.
  • TikTok is joining the mayhem it started by allowing users to create text-only posts.
  • Want to pay for Twitter Blue (X Blue?) without people knowing? Users subscribed to the service can now hide their checkmarks.
  • The results from a study on whether or not Meta has influenced politics are out. Read about it here.
  • X is offering a steep ads discount (to qualifying accounts), signaling that Things Are Fine, Seriously Stop Asking.

In case you missed it (no hard feelings), we moved into our new studio space earlier this year. It’s been a game-changer for us and Greenville’s film and content community. Inside sits a 33×18 foot LED Wall in a 3,000-square-foot soundstage, an amazing new space for agencies and filmmakers to bring almost any creative vision to life through virtual production. It’s also got three 500-square-foot content recording spaces, which are great for talking heads, social content, podcasts, online courses, photoshoots, and more.

Get Better at Social

We know how hard it can be to run an effective social media presence with a smaller team. Heck, we’ve had to figure this out ourselves. Once we started growing, we realized that we really wished we had someone to help us out along the way. Better yet, it would’ve been great to grow alongside someone going through the same struggles. We created a group to do just that through monthly educational sessions. Check it out below.
